The Origin of JP League

The JP League was started right here in Jackson Park. What started as a simple idea, neighbors getting together to play basketball, quickly grew into something much bigger.

We wanted more than just pickup games, we wanted to create something unique and legit, something that set a higher standard than the typical rec runs you find in the city.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The vision was simple: build a league close to home, where residents could compete, push themselves, and build share some laughs with friends and neighbors. We held ourselves to high standards from the start, organized games, fair competition, and a focus on respect both on and off the court.

As word spread, our group got larger and larger. That’s when we realized this wasn’t just about basketball, it was about building a community. The court became a place where friendships grew, neighbors connected, and players found both competition and camaraderie.

Make it stand out.

It was time to make it official. And from that moment, the JP League became more than any regular league, it became a community-driven league built by residents, for residents, with basketball at its core and a commitment to elevating the culture around it.
